Grandparent DNA Test
Grandparent DNA Testing helps to establish a Maternal or Paternal relationship. In cases where a suspected Mother or Father are deceased, missing, or unavailable to participate in genetic testing, both of the Paternal or Maternal Grandparents can be tested in order to determine the likelihood of Grandparentage. If both of the Grandparents are not available, we can run a single grandparent test, but it will not be as strong unless there is highly rare family DNA which can boost the results. Including one known parent of a child in a Grandparent genetic test is incredibly helpful.
In a case where both Grandparents are not available to contribute samples, a Family Reconstruction Test must take place. Reconstruction can include any known biological family members of the Possible Father or Possible Mother, including their siblings.
